Family Dental is pleased to announce we will be participating in the province-wide campaign called Start School Smiling. Initiated by the Alberta Dental Association and College, Start School Smiling is a program that allows any grade one students in Alberta to access free dental examinations, cleaning, and bitewing x-rays (if needed) at participating dental clinics.
Who Is Eligible?
Students in grade one who are residents in Alberta, including home-schooled students, are eligible to participate in this free dental care program. The student can be a new or existing patient.
Parents of grade one students may have been given information about Start School Smiling through their child’s school, but it’s not necessary to have a school recommendation in order for a child to participate in this program.
How Long is the Campaign Running?
Start School Smiling runs from September 15 until October 31, 2018. Appointments for all grade one students wishing to participate in the program can be scheduled anytime during this campaign period.
Please note that Start School Smiling includes a free dental examination and x-rays, if required. If the examination reveals that further treatment is needed, fees will be incurred. A treatment plan and payment options can be discussed with the dentist if required.
